In 2007, MEDNAX announced its first anesthesia acquisition in Virginia, and that was the beginning of our journey to become American Anesthesiology. We now have 46 anesthesia practices across 14 states and we are still growing. American Anesthesiology, a MEDNAX Company, through its affiliated practices now employs more than 1,300 physicians and 1,800 anesthetists in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers and pain practices throughout the country. An integral part of the growth and success of MEDNAX is our dedicated team of anesthetists that "Take great care of the patient, every day and in every way™,” our mission at MEDNAX. In honor of National Nurse Anesthetist Week, I want to take a moment to recognize all of our anesthetists for the outstanding care they provide.
